BABY BOOMER, BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND WELLNESS TRAINING

Three Hour Training

Among older adults, substance use disorder, particularly of alcohol and prescription drugs, is the fastest-growing health problem facing the United States. Projections indicate that since 2001, prescription drug misuse has increased by 100 percent among older adults. The primary reason for the increase in substance use among baby boomers is later in life transitions.
Statistics show that many older adults struggle to cope with late-life changes, such as losing a spouse, retirement, chronic illness, and financial hardship.
To curb the increase in substance use, older adults must be equipped with strategies to manage stressors associated with late-life transitions; healthcare professionals must be able to identify the warning signs of substance use disorders in the older adult population and how to address these matters in a holistic and culturally sensitive manner.

ETHICS AND RACIAL BIAS

Three Hour Training

This training presents the creation of racial biases, how to recognize bias, and the steps one must take to change belief systems and patterns of behavior.
We must address this matter because racial bias can lead to discriminatory practices that will affect your ethical principles and ultimately affect the individuals you serve.
